Dr. Sam Dizon

Even after the good news from Dr. Sua-Lao, I didn’t stop exploring alternative treatments for my condition. I wanted to address not just the condition per se but also my predisposition to it.

I’ve always been a believer of detoxification, which is getting rid of toxins in order to allow the body to heal itself. Years ago, I underwent a 4-day detox program at The Farm in San Benito where I lived on green juices, apple cider vinegar drinks, natural supplements and cold-pressed virgin coconut oil. Every day, I went through either colonics or coffee enema. I had severe migraine on the second day but it was resolved the day after. Bug bites from a trip to Palawan the year before healed completely and my skin turned as soft as a baby’s.

I researched for other detox centers online and discovered Dr. Sam Dizon’s Institute for Natural Healing in Olongapo. Detoxification services designed by him are also being offered at Nurture Spa in Tagaytay. Several forums mention his clinic in Pasig but I couldn’t locate an address nor a phone number. Finally, I had to send a private message to a forum member who relentlessly vouched for his services.

By the time I got to his clinic in Pasig at 2 p.m., the line was gone and I was immediately attended to by Dr. Dizon. Because I am not experiencing any symptoms, Dr. Dizon advised that I shouldn’t go through Lupron treatment. He gave me a prescription for Hoyee Ko capsules, an all-natural herbal supplement for hormonal balance. He also recommended this digestive tonic recipe for detoxification:

500 ml apple cider vinegar

500 ml virgin olive oil

2 pcs. Red onions

2 cloves garlic

small unripe papaya

½ ripe pineapple

1 bird’s eye chilli (siling labuyo)

1 yellow ginger

Blend all except siling labuyo. Add chopped siling labuyo to the mixture. Take 1 tablespoon 3x a day.

I got to chat to Dr. Dizon a bit about his work and I learned that INH will be putting up a spa in Puerto Princesa. It will have its soft opening this month. It is being funded by Mayor Hagedorn who is a regular patient of his. The intent of the spa is to provide alternative therapies that are affordable to most people. I am hoping to pay a visit to the spa when I go to the Bahay Kalipay retreat this June.
